The Premier Golf Club, Achimota Golf Club on 6th March confirmed their home dominance over their Nigerian counterparts, IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja at the Club in Achimota, Accra.
An imposing 41-25 score over two days handed the Frank Adu Jnr.,-led side the giant trophy in Ghana’s 59th Independence Day Match Play.
And as custom demands, the visitors, led by Hammid Abbo presented a gold-plated plaque to the host, who in return gifted the Abuja-based Club with a wall painting.
Club captain Dr Adu Jnr., having reigned for three terms charged members to support the Club in every aspect to roll out projects for its ‘Landlord’, Achimota School to justify their occupancy of the 147 acre land in a prime area of Achimota.
He told the large gathering that “…help me and the Council to meet the demands of the school because this is where we have our recreation and strike all the business deals.”
His counterpart, Abbo noted “It is truly amazing and pleasurable celebrating independence together for 16 years. When we meet, we celebrate our nationality.”
Nigeria will host the Achimotans in October for the former’s independence milestone.
