RULES OF ACHIMOTA GOLF CLUB
The game of golf shall be played in accordance to the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Rules Limited and the following Local Rules of the Achimota Golf Club.
1. OUT OF BOUNDS (RULE 27-1)
a. Beyond all fence walls defining the boundaries of the course.
b. Beyond all out of bounds white stakes.
c. The Club House premises including the Half Way House.
2. WATER HAZARDS (RULE 26-1) INCLUDING LATERAL WATER HAZARDS AT HOLE 1, 9, 10 AND 18.
a. Water hazard margins are defined by
i. Yellow stakes/lines
ii. Lateral water hazard margins are defined by red stakes/lines.
3. BALLS
a. For the avoidance of doubt, players’ ball must be declared before the game starts.
4. PREFERRED LIES (RULE 33-8)
a. On the fairway in play, the ball may be preferred within a radius of 12 inches not near the hole. The position of the ball must be marked before it is lifted.
5. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (24-2)
a. All stakes on the course and any other artificial structures.
6. ETIQUETTE (RULE 33-7)
a. The committee may disqualify a player for a serious breach of etiquette.
7. SUSPENSION OF PLAY DUE TO A DANGEROUS SITUATION (RULE 6-8) SIGNAL
a. Discontinue play immediately – one prolonged note of siren.
b. Discontinue play – three consecutive notes of siren, repeated.
c. Resume play – two short notes of siren, repeated.
